2005 Grey 1500 QC 5.7L AKA MUFASA
Lightbulb Resonator Box
What is the purpose of it? I have seen CAI that keep it and ones that totally get rid of it. Ive looked it up but can't figure out if it is beneficial to keep it or not.

It's not beneficial except to keep induction noise down. It is detrimental to air flow into the engine. The most efficient, and HP increasing kits, have no resonator on the intake tube.

yeah if you want performance don't bother with a resonator. All it does is control sound by redirecting airflow like what was said above. That is more or less the purpose of the factory air box, to be cheap and quiet. I think you'll dig the intake growl of the non-resonator cai.

check out ebay!! they ahve some good cheap stuff if you just wana get rid of the box, and get some more air flow. its not like a 300 buck K&N full intake, but it will probably do the job!

I got the Airaid, i got the filter and cold air box, just need the air tube, might have to check out ebay but if i can get just the tube from somewhere ill probably just do that.
